Askizu Mendia is a special place in the world of Txakoli production. It is one of the closest vineyards to the Atlantic ocean in the northern coast of Spain (small village named Getaria). This unique terroir is heavily influenced by the sea and the Atlantic climate. The Ostolaza family has been one of the pioneers of the viticulture of the area. To produce Ziaboga Rose we were able to select a small parcel of ASKIZU vineyards Hondarrabi Beltza vines. Very unique and limited parcels of Hondarrabi Beltza (clone of Cab Franc) are planted in this area. The vineyards trained using Pergola system and with south orientation achieve more sunshine than other grapevines. This singular location is the key to produce the unique Ziaboga Getariako Txakolina Rose.

Mostly seafood, especially anchovies and sardines, oysters, deep-fried bites as fried squid or calamari, seafood salads, and most Japanese food like sushi and sashimi.
