Honoring the traditions of wine-making of the Txorierri Valley, whose origins were first accounted in old manuscripts dated in the year 864 A.C, Ziaboga is the convergence of Atlantic and Continental climatic influences. This Basque valley hosts a unique Txakoli micro-climate which allows for warmer days with more hours of sunshine and fewer storms. ASTOREKA single vineyard’s south orientation and it’s clay and limestone terroir highlights the character of our grape variety Hondarrabi Zuri. The 20+ year old vines are now ripening to the fullest, producing a very high-quality yield to create Ziaboga Txakoli Zuri.

Tasting Notes

The straw yellow color with a light green tinge leads to rich orchard aromatics of pear, green apple and peach fruit. The palate entry is beautiful, mineral and clean yet evolves into the ripe fruit lush textures of a medium bodied white. Perfectly balanced and in harmony with its origin, this single vineyard from the Txorierri valley is a classic expression of the Bizkaiko txakolina.

Food Pairing

This wine is ideal with seafood! Oysters, Sushi, Ceviche and Hamachi Crudo. Cured and unctuous cheeses like Mahon and Cabrales blue pair very well. Serve chilled.
