Single vineyard

Askizu Mendia is a special place in the world of Txakoli production. It is one of the closest vineyards to the Atlantic ocean in the northern coast of Spain (small village named Getaria). This unique terroir is heavily influenced by the sea and the Atlantic climate. The Ostolaza family has been one of the pioneers of the viticulture of the area. To produce Ziaboga we were able to select a parcel of ASKIZU vineyards (all using Pergola system) with south orientation and mostly limestone soils. The singular location and the 25+ year old Hondarrabi zuri vines produce our classic style Ziaboga Getariako Txakolina Zuri.

Food Pairing

Mostly seafood, especially anchovies and sardines, oysters, deep-fried bites as fried squid or calamari, seafood salads, and most Japanese food like sushi and sashimi.
